Because of a terrible event in his early years, Eddie Garrick, a kind man, has abandoned Christmas. Eddie’s wife Allison Garrick, from whom he is estranged, asks him to bring his daughter Charlotte, to work on Christmas Eve. It’s there that they encounter Nick, an enigmatic figure dressed in red. The father, in Eddie’s opinion as a social worker, is insane and in need of professional assistance, but after he incites the fury of a local politician, he and his daughter are taken on a bizarre journey that may just let him believe in Christmas again.
