In order to avoid being discovered by the people of Patience, Colorado, an alien who has crash-landed on Earth with the intention of destroying humanity takes on the name of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigel. He uses this disguise to search the snow-covered Colorado Mountains for fragments of his ship. By watching Law & Order and taking after the late, great Jerry Orbach, he learns “to be human.” Mike “Big Black” Thompson, the sheriff of Patience, and Liv Baker, his deputy, unexpectedly show up to his remote home one day.
